The Rowley Group’s State Income Audit Management & Defense Service focuses on your recently concluded current, and/or future state income and franchise tax audits.

We can manage the entire audit process on your behalf, or review audit workpapers at any time during the process, or simply provide another set of eyes on your assessment liability prior to payment.

We provide flexible offerings such as research and issues development resources, along with an experienced tax professional who will become an extension of your tax department. We can have as little or as much involvement as you desire.

We manage every step of the audit including:

Meeting with the auditor and devising an equitable audit plan
Reviewing all audit workpapers in detail, including audit methodology
Identifying overpayments to incorporate into the audit workpapers
Negotiating issues and settlements at your direction
Determining the accuracy of penalty and interest computations
Documenting and presenting all findings to you and the auditor
Pursuing unresolved issues through the appropriate channels, but only with your pre-approval
